healing plants

DID YOU KNOW THAT?

… it takes 4,000 kg (8,818 lbs) of rose petals (2.5 acres of rose bushes) to obtain 1 kg (2.2 lbs) of essential oil of rose,
.

... 150 kg (330 lbs) of flowering tops of lavender to yield the same amount of essential oil?

Please keep this in mind when using essential oils and I suggest that you use them sparingly.

Have a wonderful and happy, healthy week.

Healing Spirituality

The Power of One

“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean.
But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.

– Mother Theresa

Let’s change this world – one by one. I am asking all of you to use my Facebook  page to share POSITIVE experiences in life, acts of kindness, things you are grateful for etc. – no matter how small or large. It could be something as simple as a smile you extended or received.

Anything that creates joy, love, peace, support and happiness even if just for a short moment; in the long run all these positive accounts make the world a happier and healthier place to be.

We can make a positive difference! Let’s create a powerful, positive virus!

Joy, peace, love, health and happiness for all,

Gudrun

P.S. The book Hidden Messages in Water by Masaru Emoto is a great example of the power of thought, emotions or any form of energy on life.

CHIA SEED JELLO

YUMMY – NUTRITIOUS – FAST & EASY

Another one of my favorite recipes, packed with valuable nutrition that is easily absorbed. As always be creative and adjust the recipe to your individual needs and favourite flavours. Great snack to bring to a pot luck which is guaranteed to be enjoyed by all regardless of age.

RECIPE

Ingredients:

1 part (cup) raw chia seeds
2 parts (cups) high quality water, high quality juice or my preference, 1cup water and 1 cup juice

Chopped fresh or frozen fruits (apples, pears, mangoes, berries, etc.) – adjust type variety of fruit and amount to personal preference; I add lots
Optional: seeds, raisins, nuts, goji berries etc.

Instructions:

Soak all seeds, raisins, goji berries and nuts for about 2 hours (not necessary but preferable for enhanced absorption of nutrients).
Mix all ingredients in large bowl.
Chill in fridge, freezer or right now in the snowy winter wonderland.
The mixture will jell by itself because Chia seeds can absorb an incredible amount of liquid.
Serve and enjoy

The Latin name for Chia is Salvia hispanica, a flowering plant that is native to central and southern Mexico and Guatemala. It is a flowering plant that belongs to the mint family (Laminaceae). It is rich in calcium, manganese, phosphorus and a great source of healthy omega-3 fats and protein. Check the internet for a more complete description.

THE MAGIC OF HEALTHY CHOICES

Can give even dogs different voices. Watch how herbs and nutrition turned *Bentley into a musician.

*Bentley is my daughter’s dog. We discovered his musical talent when he was visiting the other day.

JUNGLE JUICE

My very own JUNGLE JUICE video is on YouTube now!

Remember: start the day out right with the JUNGLE JUICE. JUNGLE JUICE provides an instant increase in vitality.

The nutrients are easily assimilated and every single cell of your body will benefit and feel its revitalizing and nutritional effect. It is true “Cell Food!”

Green drinks, using fresh plant materials, provide concentrated nutrition full of enzymes to the body. They are easily absorbed and provide vital building blocks to the body for the (re)generation of healthy tissue. The nutritional value will vary with the choice of ingredients and is enhanced by the addition of fresh ginger root. Both Ginger and honey serve as “carriers” for the herbal ingredients.

Healthy and Guilt-Free Indulgence

RAW FOOD (MANDALA) MANGO PIE

I treat every recipe just as my clients as an individual creation that requires a custom tailored, creative approach.
So I suggest you use the following recipe as a guideline and add your own personal twist to it.

RECIPE

CRUST

  • 2 cups raw, organic nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts or a combination)
  • 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup pitted dates, cut into pieces (you may add some raisins or unsweetened cranberries)

In a food processor process the nuts and coconut
Add dates (and other dried fruits if desired)
Process until mixture forms coarse lumps and sticks together when pressed in a pie plate

NOTE: The texture depends on the type of nuts used; if the mixture is too dry you can add a little bit of water or organic juice.
Press crust into pie plate

FILLING

  • 2 fresh mangos, peeled and cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup dried unsweetened mango – cut into pieces (use knife or scissors work very well) and soak for about 10 minutes
NOTE: Most of the commercially available mango is sweetened; best place to find unsweetened mango is a health/natural food store
  • Variety of fresh fruits such as kiwis, raspberries, cherries, blue berries etc.

Drain the dried mango
Combine both the fresh and dried mango in a blender and blend until it has a smooth, pudding like consistency
Pour into pie crust
Decorate with fresh fruit – have fun creating your own Mandala; in the summer you can add fresh flowers such as Borage  Violet or Wild Rose flowers
Keep in the fridge

Serve as is or with whipping cream sweetened with maple syrup. YUMMY!
