Once again, I have been busy working behind the scenes. I feel very blessed because this project is a joint venture with my daughter Yana-Lee. Yana-Lee has created all the wonderful illustrations and if all goes well the book will enter the next production phase by the end of this week. Hopefully the book will be available by the beginning of November.
Stay tuned for updates and please help get the word out about both of my very soon to be released books, HEALING SPIRITUALITY – A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO UNDERSTANDING AND WORKING WITH BACH FLOWERS and HEALING WITH BACH FLOWER MANDALAS. Both provide marvelous tools for personal growth and healing in very simple yet effective ways.
Thank you for your support.
Green blessings,
Gudrun
Ever wondered about the safety and accuracy of mammograms? Are you aware of possible alternatives such as breast thermography?
Please pass on the following information on to as many women as possible.
Please contact Cindy Peever at thermographynorthernbc@gmail.com for more information or to book an appointment. This will be the only time this fall that Cindy will be available locally for this great service.
What is BREAST THERMOGRAPHY?
Breast Thermography is a form of breast screening using digital infrared imaging. No squeezing of breasts required, no radiation yet very reliable in early detection of abnormal breast tissue. It provides the earliest evidence of breast disease with an accuracy of 90%. This means in 90% of the cases the scan accurately indicates presence or absence of dis-ease. It shows the function, physiology and metabolism of breast tissue and gives a picture of the cell activity in breast tissue. Usually, abnormal cells like cancer cells are hotter than normal cells. A breast thermography scan shows the heat (temperature) difference between normal breast tissue and problematic areas.
Breast thermography is a very reliable tool in early detection for abnormal cell development; however a small percentage of cancers are non-hypervascular which means they do not produce extra heat.
MAMMOGRAMS
Mammograms on the other hand use x-rays to detect a mass. X-rays don’t pass through the mass as easily as through normal breast tissue. Mammograms work best for soft post-menopausal breast tissue and for slow growing tumors. They are not effective for young, dense breast tissue, large breasts, fibro-cystic breasts, breasts with breast implants, pregnant and breast feeding women as well as women on hormone replacement therapy. The rate of false-positive readings with about 25% is high (suggested disease where there is none) as is the false negative rate of about 20% (missed tumors).
Dr. Mercola (www.mercola.com) has an article about mammograms providing a wealth of information.
EDUCATE YOURSELF ABOUT YOUR OPTIONS AND THEN DECIDE WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU!
Thank you for sharing your excitement about my upcoming book.
It is getting VERY close now. I will let you know as soon as it is available on AMAZON – hoping for the beginning of October at the latest.

I am so happy that Dr. Aung has given his blessings to my upcoming book.
“Among all natural healing modalities, flower remedies often deserve more modern recognition for their gentle and sensuous qualities, as they provide a safe and effective treatment option that is largely free of hazardous side effects. Gudrun Penselin has created a comprehensive and insightful work on the inherent healing qualities of Bach Flowers in Healing Spirituality: A Practical Guide to Understanding and Working with Bach Flowers. Flush with historical insight, practical guidance and a thorough understanding of the vibrational healing powers of Bach flowers, this book is a must-read for both beginners in the field as well as experts, who will benefit from an enriched understanding of remedial flower therapies.”

Mother Teresa’s wisdom continues to shine through in her simple yet profound words. I feel blessed that I had the opportunity to spend time with her in India in 1975. For anyone interested, you can watch her biography in a film entitled: Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

Gudrun

1/4 cup melted butter

1/2 cup coconut flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1-1 1/2 cups grated carrot

Optional: raisins
Cream cheese

Maple syrup
DIRECTIONS

Choose any frosting you like. I prefer to make it with cream cheese, freshly squeezed lemon and maple syrup. Amounts to taste. You may add pineapple and/or decorate the frosting with walnuts or pecans.
BE CREATIVE – ALL MY MEASUREMENTS ARE APPROXIMATE AND I ADJUST THEM FREELY AS WELL AS SOME OF THE INGREDIENTS.
The oil is made from Calendula officinalis often referred to as Marigold. Many plants are called Marigold and therefore the Latin name is required for correct identification.
Why not plant some Calendula this year in your garden? The flowers are bright yellow and orange and have many therapeutic properties. It is easy to grow and harvest. The oil can be made into a healing salve which is a favorite of many of my clients.
PROPERTIES
anti-inflammatory – wound healing – anti-fungal – anti-bacterial/anti-microbial – anti-septic
Calendula oil is used topically and primarily used in SKIN CARE because of its great anti-inflammatory and wound healing actions.
SKIN DRYNESS & IRRITATION
The oil helps to moisturize the skin, soothes the area and reduces pain.
Conditions: diaper rash, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, minor cuts and wounds, bed sores, insect bites, frost bites
FUNGAL INFECTIONS
Athlete’s foot, ring worm and jock itch
INFLAMMATION
Swelling from injuries i.e. sprained muscles and bruises, leg ulcers, spider and varicose veins
HISTORICAL USE
Applied externally for abdominal cramps and constipation
There is no such thing as “health foods”.
If what we eat does not nourish and support our bodies it should not be called food. Therefore at least 80% of what is sold as “food” in the grocery stores does not classify as food. It fails to provide the building blocks to the body required to maintain healthy cells and tissues.
It not only does not provide what is required by the body to function properly, but it also typically burdens and damages our body with chemicals such as preservatives, colouring agents, pesticides, herbicides, and genetically modified/engineered foods. A high percentage of so called health issues can be remedied with a change in dietary habits. I see this happening every day in my practice.
Many people would never feed their animals the food and drinks they themselves are consuming on a daily basis. Why not? Because they know all too well that their own diet would not be good for their pets!
So, I suggest make your foods your medicines and if you do this you will be surprised how your energy increases, your skin clears up, no more phlegm, achy joints …. I recommend you eat 70% raw on a regular basis.
As always, green blessings,|
~Gudrun
– Seeds and nuts: Both are full of healthy fats and protein, which help stabilize blood sugar levels. Avoid pre-salted nuts.
– Seed and nut butters with fruit or vegetables: The classic “ants on the log” (nut butter spread on a celery stick and decorated with raisins) – fruits such as apples dipped in nut butter.
– Veggies and dip: Any vegetable you enjoy for example carrots, celery, broccoli, tomato, cucumber and cauliflower etc. can be enjoyed with a healthy dip such as hummus or guacamole. Avoid commercial dips such as ranch. Typically they have very little nutritional value and are high in fat and therefore calories.
… it takes 4,000 kg (8,818 lbs) of rose petals (2.5 acres of rose bushes) to obtain 1 kg (2.2 lbs) of essential oil of rose,
.
... 150 kg (330 lbs) of flowering tops of lavender to yield the same amount of essential oil?
Please keep this in mind when using essential oils and I suggest that you use them sparingly.
Have a wonderful and happy, healthy week.

Gudrun
